Passion's Goal

In 2014 and 2015, I failed to reach any of my weightloss goals.  I allowed some major hurdles, including loosing a job, get me off track.  I am proud to say that I smashed the first of my goals for 2016.  Today is my 21st anniversary married to my beloved, Debra;  a blessing that I can not adequately express in words.  I set the goal of 195 lbs in order to lay a healthier foundation for the expression of our passion on this day.  Today, I sit 15 lbs lighter than this goal at 280 lbs.

Jogging allows peace.  I often jog during my lunch break in my work day and I find this time to be peaceful.  I don't think of work (which is rare), personal problems or other burdens in this life.  I settle into the run, enjoy the effort and thrill in the accomplishment of the day.  Some may say that this makes me lucky... I prefer, blessed!

[Week 9] Routine

Some weeks are routine and this one was one of those weeks.  Like last week, the most impressive thing was Debra's first 10K distance (no walking) .  Even better is the fact that she laid down 7 miles. I could not ask for a better running partner.

Debra and I also began muscle fitness this week.  This should help boost our stamina and accelerate our weight-loss.

  • Weight: 290 lbs
  • Weight Loss: 1+ (Madisynne's BDay - high-calorie day)
  • Accomplishment: Began muscle fitness -- 2nd week 10K

[Week 8] Debra is most impressive

I was going to start this blog by elevating my own 10K accomplishment this week but Debra's kick-ass run on Saturday is of more impressive note.  Debra laid down a solid 5-mile run with most of those miles in an 11.5-minute mile average pace! My daughter and I were walking and Debra passed us running.  We both looked up and down the trail and Debra was no-where to be seen.  Crazy!
